When the holiday mini came out and it had a Big Shot Peek-a-boo die… I was SOOO excited!!
These little pop open windows are so much fun. You can use them for any occasion, Halloween, Christmas advent Calendars, birthdays.. the possiblilties are endlesss!!
For my kids, I decided to do a fun little 12 day countdown to Halloween. While the images are fun to look at through the openings, I know my kids would get a kick if I put a little treat behind them. 🙂
So I purchased a 12 space muffin tins to be my "treat holder". For the squares, I used Magnetic sheets and the Halloween designer series paper called Frightful sight. I cut the pieces 3 1/2 inches squre and attached the DSP to them and ran them through the Scallop Squares duo die for the Big shot. This machine cuts through the magentic sheets like butter!
Then I stamped various Halloween images on cardstock measuring 1/3/4 squre. These will be the images behind the Peek -A-Boo doors. Like this…
Next, I added the numbers from the Alphabet die called "Timeless Type Junior Alphabet" to the outside.
Here's a look inside at some of the treats…
I don't plan on giving toys as treats for Halloween but you could do this as a Christmas countdown and include something like this…
I did find a small miffin tin with 24 spaces.. so I am excited to complete this project with the Chrsitmas advent stamp set !! By the way…. today's project was completed with the Big Shot…and it could be yours for FREE with the purchase of the starter kit!! Click here to find out more about this fabulous opportunity!!
What do you think? Would you like to do this as a class ? Let me know and if there's enough interest we can pick a date!
Thanks so much!!
